Who We Are
In the early 1970s, together with neighbors and colleagues, Herb and Audrey established the Chambers-Canal Civic Association (CCCA) with the aim of maintaining the community vibrancy of the downtown area, following the construction of the World Trade Center.
In 1999, consolidating support for the region’s hospitals, colleges and other vital public institutions, they established The Herbert & Audrey Rosenfield Fund to support the Downtown Manhattan community and beyond. The Fund is chartered in New York State.
In 2019, the Fund Directors redefined the mission to promote social change through technological innovation and education. Toward that mission, the Fund’s grantmaking program supports community-serving higher education institutions and social impact-oriented entrepreneurial incubators.
